ARBIL: A journalist killed in May after writing a scathing article about the alleged corruption of Kurdish leaders was murdered by militants, authorities in Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region said yesterday. Sardasht Osman, 22, was kidnapped outside his university in the regional capital of Arbil on May 4, and his corpse was found a day later in the restive northern city of Mosul with a single bullet to the head.
